Mumbai: Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan’s ouster from ‘Dostana 2’ set several tongues wagging as fans were quite excited to see him opposite Janhvi Kapoor. Within few days of his exit from Karan Johar’s film, gossip mills started buzzing with the rumours that Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies and Aanand L Rai have dropped the ’Sonu Ki Titu Ki Sweety’ star from their respective projects.
Kartik, last seen in ‘Love Aaj Kal 2’, has maintained a dignified silence over the matter. His fans have requested him to address the rumours about his ‘unprofessionalism’, which have spread like wildfire on the internet.
Filmmaker Anubhav Sinha shared a post to talk about the hullabaloo surrounding Kartik’s films. He said that producers often drop actors from projects but they don’t talk about it.
“And by the way… when Producers drop Actors or vice versa they don’t talk about it. It happens all the time. This campaign against Kartik Aryan seems concerted to me and very bloody unfair. I respect his quiet,” the ‘Thappad’ director tweeted.
Karan Johar’s production house issued a statement to confirm Kartik’s exit from ‘Dostana 2’. “Due to professional circumstances, on which we have decided to maintain a dignified silence – we will be recasting Dostana 2, directed by Collin D’Cunha. Please wait for the official announcement soon,” the statement.
A source close to the film said that KJo has vowed to never work with Kartik in the future.
Speculations were rife that Aanand L Rai has offered Ayushmann Khurrana the lead role after dropping Kartik from his film. However, his team squashed the rumours while exclusively talking to ABP News.
“These are baseless rumours. We met Kartik for another film. We have offered another film to Ayushmann Khurrana. This is a case of a complete mix-up,” a spokesperson at Colour Yellow Productions said.
On the professional front, Kartik Aaryan will be next seen in ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2’. The horror comedy co-starring Kiara Advani and Tabu is slated to hit the silver screens on November 19, 2021.
The ‘Pati Patni Aur Woh’ star also has ‘Dhamaka’ in his kitty. He is playing the role of a journalist in the flick, which will premiere on Netflix.
