New Delhi: The Centre on Saturday extended the lockdown in containment zones till June 30. The fourth phase of the nationwide lockdown was scheduled to end tomorrow.As per the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs, all economic activities can restart in a phased manner outside those containment zones, with SOPs to be prescribed by the Ministry of Health. In the containment zones only essential activities will be allowed.
In Phase I, the order said, religious places, hotels, restaurants, other hospitality services and shopping malls will be permitted to open from June 8. MoHFW will prepare SOPs for above activities, in consultation with the Central Ministries/Departments concerned and other stakeholders.
In Phase II, schools, colleges, educational training coaching institutions etc will be opened. The state governments have been advised to hold consultations at the institution level with parents and other stakeholders. Based on the feedback, a decision on the re-opening of these institutions will be taken in the month of July 2020.
In Phase III, dates of restarting for international air travel of passengers, cinema halls, gymnasiums and other large congregations will be decided.
Movement of individuals shall remain strictly prohibited between 9:00 PM to 5:00 AM throughout the country, except essential activities, as per the guidelines.There will be no restrictions on inter-state or intra-state movement of persons and goods. No special permission/ approval/ e-permit will be required for such movement.
